Two of the events industry’s most important occasions, the Australian Event Awards and Australian Event Symposium, will be launched together on 15 May 2012, at Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The combined Launch Event will reveal the hotly anticipated 2012 Symposium program and provide the first glimpse into the Event Awards for this year. In addition, Sandy Hollway AO, co-chair of the Australian Event Awards Industry Judging Panel and high-level international events consultant, will present insights into both programs and the industry itself.

“We have a great Olympic legacy, a corps of highly experienced practitioners, and a strong international presence,” said Hollway. “But it is important to examine the state of the industry now, and push for even greater innovation so we can remain events pioneers in a global context. The Awards and Symposium are important vessels for the currency and conversation we need to achieve this.”
Both the Symposium and the Awards recognise and foster excellence in the Australian events industry, and aim to further incite innovation in all industry sectors. The Launch will be one of the key platforms this year for the industry to come together to absorb, discuss, and extend great ideas.
