Trippas White opens new restaurant at Taronga Zoo

Inspired by its native bushland and harbourside setting, Me-Gal features a seasonally-driven menu designed for sharing and a rooftop events space.

Trippas White Group has opened its new restaurant Me-Gal at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo.

Named after the Cammeraigal word for ‘tears’, Me-Gal is inspired by the saltwater of its harbourside surrounds and enjoys the native bushland setting of the zoo’s Wildlife Retreat alongside sprawling views of the Sydney Harbour and city skyline.

Executive chef Stefan Schröder has designed a seasonally driven menu that heroes fresh local produce and native ingredients. Dishes are designed to be shared and there’s a ‘shared feast’ option available for groups of six or more guests.

While the restaurant is not available for private events, there is the Gili Rooftop function space right above it, which caters to 90 cocktail and 50 seated.
