TEG acquires sports and entertainment start-up FAN+

Adding exclusive personalised live experiences for attendees at entertainment and sporting events is the driving factor for TEG's acquisition.

Global live entertainment and ticketing business TEG, owner of Ticketek, has acquired a majority stake in Sydney-based sports and entertainment start-up FAN+.

Under the agreement, TEG will take a 51 percent share in FAN+, which will be integrated into the TEG business by leveraging TEG’s portfolio of live events and Ticketek’s booking flow.

FAN+ offers a range of personalised live entertainment experiences with some of Australia’s leading sporting and entertainment talent.

Following an integration project in 2023 with TEG’s ticketing arm, Ticketek, fans will be able to add personalised FAN+ experiences, such as a backstage tour, a seat at a pre-show sound check, an invite to a production’s opening night launch party, or tossing the coin at a favourite team’s next sporting match.

The addition of FAN+ is the next evolution of TEG’s live entertainment model and will bring the demand for personalised content to life by leveraging the TEG portfolio of live events.

“AT TEG, we believe nothing beats the live experience and to be able to personalise that live experience with a FAN+ moment is the perfect extension of our offering,” TEG chief executive officer Geoff Jones said.

Rod Harys, chief executive officer and founder of FAN+, says the acquisition will enable the business to scale and fans to access a whole new world of personalised entertainment they previously thought out of reach.

“Being a part of the TEG family means we can scale our offering in terms of audience reach and access some pretty mind-blowing personalised entertainment options.”
