MEA 2023 conference destination, dates announced

Following a successful comeback conference earlier this year in Melbourne, MEA will once again bring the industry together in the Gold Coast next year.

Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) has announced its annual conference for event professionals, Evolve 2023 will return to the Gold Coast for the first time since 2006, on Wednesday 7 – Thursday 8 June 2023.

Following a successful comeback conference earlier this year in Melbourne, MEA will once again foster the Australian events sector’s resurgence by bringing it together over social networking functions and a one-and-a-half day conference program. The National MEA Awards Gala Dinner will also make its long-awaited return and celebrate outstanding performance over 2021 and 2022 as the National MEA Awards Gala Dinner makes its long-awaited return.

With the real and immediate need for up-skilling quickly becoming a priority across all areas of the events sector, Evolve 2023 will present a fantastic opportunity for event professionals to reconnect and for businesses to educate and develop their staff on future predictions, latest innovations, and to hear from event experts on trending topics.

MEA chief executive officer Peter McDonald said he was excited to have MEA’s annual conference return to the Gold Coast for the first time in 17 years.

“Where better to begin winter than somewhere sunny, bright, fun and vibrant? With many parts of Australia having a public holiday either the preceding or following Monday, our dates bode well for a bit of a working holiday. Not many places better to do that than ‘Australia’s favourite playground’ as it’s come to be known,” McDonald said.

“We’ll shortly be announcing venues and a major partner who has jumped on board from the outset. Details about the event and speaker program will be shared as they become confirmed. I can’t wait!”.

MEA will be working closely with its Gold Coast Branch Committee Chair, Jackie Rouleston-Stuart, and Queensland Branch Committee Chair Alicia Thomas, to ensure a fantastic event for all.

“We can’t wait to welcome the MEA Evolve Conference to the Gold Coast, “The Imagination Capital of Australia” in June 2023. We urge you, peer to peer, to make the time to come back to the industry and to get back to yourself, by joining us on the Gold Coast next June.”

Registrations will open in the coming weeks, as will opportunities to partner with MEA as a sponsor or exhibitor of the 2023 Conference.

In related news, MEA is also getting ready to celebrate another busy and eventful year with its members at three Christmas events. On 29 November, the MEA NSW team is putting on a Christmas party at Sydney Masonic Centre, followed by SA ClubMEA’s celebration at Café Outside The Square in Adelaide, 1 December. The last MEA Christmas event will be held by MEA VIC in Melbourne, at AC Hotel by Marriott Melbourne Southbank on 6 December.
