MCEC talent shines in docuseries

The Centre has unveiled the latest instalment of its Event Expert Docuseries, offering an insight into the behind-the-scenes workings of the Centre and its team of experts.

Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) has unveiled the latest instalment of its Event Expert Docuseries, featuring customer service manager David Howie, operations manager Anthea Fahey, and lighting specialist Matthew Dix.

Produced in partnership with Melbourne-based video production agency Monster and Bear, the three new episodes provide an insight into the behind-the-scenes workings of the Centre and its team of experts.

“Our Event Expert Docuseries showcases the energy and enthusiasm of the MCEC team and the incredible work they do in bringing events to life,” MCEC head of marketing, Liz Kozmevski said.

“Through the series, we aim to inspire and educate our customers on how they can leverage our world-class facilities and expertise to create unforgettable experiences, and we hope the series inspires others to host their events at MCEC and witness the magic for themselves.”

Each year, more than two million visitors come to MCEC for events ranging from small meetings to international conferences and exhibitions. In his video, customer service manager David Howie offers viewers an inside look at the Centre’s unique design details, inspired by local surroundings, iconic Melbourne landmarks, and history. Having worked at the organisation for over two decades, he has a wealth of knowledge about MCEC, its facilities and services.

Operations manager Anthea Fahey, who oversees events from bump-in to bump-out, ensures all events held at MCEC are safe, accessible, and enjoyable for all attendees. Her video highlights the importance of having a holistic view of the venue and the role she plays in ensuring every event runs smoothly.

Lighting specialist Matthew Dix’s video illustrates the importance of collaboration in achieving a unified design and how he is constantly researching cutting-edge technology to keep MCEC at the forefront of the industry.

The Event Expert Docuseries also features event planner Maxine McIntyre, sustainability manager Samantha Ferrier, executive pastry chef Alessandro Bartesaghi, digital event manager Mark Higgins, and former event delivery manager Amir Asady, who has since been promoted to operations manager.
