Registration is now open for organisers of meetings, functions and conferences to find a ‘new view’ of the South Island and what it has to offer at Convene South.
Being held at the Air Force Museum, Wigram on September 3 the expo is also ideal for inbound tour operators, wedding organisers, corporate travel agents and incentive operators.
Event manager Allyssa Eastaugh says Convene South will showcase the best the South Island has to offer in terms of venues, accommodation, attractions, activities and other related products in one day and under one roof. A number of convention bureaux will be exhibiting to highlight their regions.
Eastaugh says buyers from Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Dunedin and other parts of the country are welcome to attend as hosted buyers – either to attend the expo only or to take part in both the expo and a pre-show familiarisation tour.
‘We expect to announce a number of other exciting opportunities for business event organisers in the future, but already we have some fantastic tour options available.’
These include exploring the Aoraki / Mt Cook / MacKenzie region, visiting mid-Canterbury and discovering Hurunui – Hanmer Springs. The tours are being organised by the Christchurch and Canterbury Convention Bureau.
