Inaugural Business Events NSW showcase hits Sydney

Destination NSW hosted its inaugural Business Events NSW Showcase on Wednesday, 17 May, 2024, which highlighted immersive visitor experiences throughout the state’s regions to more than 100 event planners and buyers.

Held at Sydney’s Collider event space, the showcase conveyed Destination NSW’s fresh approach to the business events sector, with its branding of “Corporate events that feel anything but” aiming to deliver an engaging alternative to traditional business event experiences.

Business event travellers spend on average $554 per person per night in NSW, which is 101 per cent higher than the average overnight spend for leisure travellers, who spend on average $182 per night. This makes the business events sector a key to growing the state’s visitor economy.

“From the outback to the ocean, regional NSW is home to world-class conference facilities, warm hospitality and visitor experiences filled with richness and substance,” says Destination NSW CEO Steve Cox.

“The Business Events NSW Showcase was an invaluable opportunity to immerse buyers in business event destinations, products and experiences available in regional NSW.

“Feedback from attendees has been outstanding. Buyers gained valuable insights on products and experiences available across NSW that will help them deliver inspiring conference programs for their next event.”
