Elevate Communication hires industry veteran to re-launch its events business

Brisbane-based marketing and communications firm to re-launch its events business after recruiting one of the highest-credentialed professionals in the business.

Elevate Communication has re-launched its major events arm, and has hired events manager veteran, Gina Shaw, to lead up the effort.

The Brisbane-based full-service agency paused its events pillar through COVID-19, but it was a major part of its business previously. Shaw, meanwhile, has more than 15 years’ experience in the conferencing and events industry.

She is one of 58 events professionals in A/NZ to hold a Professional Conference Organisers Association (PCOA) certification as a Certified Events Manager (CEM).

“I’m thrilled to join Elevate as Events Manager, I’m looking forward to working on a mix of national conferences and events across Australia,” she said.

Meanwhile, Elevate Communication Managing Director, Mel Deacon, says that she is excited to have a veteran of Shaw’s experience to relaunch the events arm of the business.

“Gina is one of the best event managers I’ve come across in decades. Her wisdom, expertise and talent are second to none and we couldn’t be prouder to have her on board achieving outstanding results for our clients,” she said.

One of the first events that Elevate and Shaw will work on is to support Brisbane domestic violence charity, Beyond DV, in an awareness event, the inaugural Dress To Express, which is being held in partnership with Brisbane Fashion Festival in August.
