Destination Gold Coast appoints new Chair

Adrienne Readings takes over from outgoing Chair Paul Donovan after his 17-year tenure in the role.

Destination Gold Coast (DGC) has announced the appointment of Adrienne Readings as Chair of the Board, replacing outgoing Chair Paul Donovan who served a 17-year tenure in the role.

Readings will bring extensive experience of the tourism sector to the Board and has been instrumental in securing major financial gains and a building strong future for the city in her current role as general manager of the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC). She also volunteers on several boards and committees.

“I’m honoured to take on this role at such a crucial time for tourism on the Gold Coast and am looking forward to working with all stakeholders to ensure that the city continues to shine as a destination for both business and leisure tourism,” Readings said.

“DGC has an incredibly strong team led by chief executive officer Patricia O’Callaghan, supporting our local operators and businesses. Our vision is to build on our history as one of Australia’s most popular destinations into an even more attractive choice for visitors.”

Paul Donovan, departing Chair Paul Donovan said he has known Readings for many years and feels confident handing over the reins.

“Adrienne has been a strong and active supporter of the Gold Coast throughout her career and takes every opportunity to grow the reputation and success of our city,” Donovan said.
