Plans for the airline to build a brand new 500-sqm lounge facility were announced last year following overwhelming support from Virgin Blue business guests in particular, for a corporate lounge.

‘The Lounge’ has seating capacity for over 120 Guests and was officially opened last week (Feb 4) with a cocktail party for key corporate to showcase the new offering.

“The formal opening was timed to coincide with the return to work of the business market and the ongoing momentum of the resource sector,” said Virgin Blue CEO Brett Godfrey.

“It is the continued support of WA based business travellers and mining industry community, together with their east coast counterparts travelling across the Nullabor regularly, that was the catalyst for this significant investment.

“While it’s been a long time coming, we are pleased travellers now have a fantastic lounge to work or relax in whether they are travelling during the day or on one of the evening flights after a long day on the job,” he said.

The Lounge in Perth is located on the ground floor of the Virgin Blue terminal, immediately through the security screening point, and is the sixth Virgin Blue “The Lounge” facility to be opened throughout Australia.
