Singapore Airlines had two reasons to celebrate in Brisbane yesterday (Mar 30), with the day marking its inaugural A330-300 commercial flight for the airline and the 25th anniversary of the carrier’s operations in Queensland.

Singapore Airlines has launched A330 flights to Brisbane

The arrival of the Singapore-Brisbane flight was welcomed by Singapore Airlines CEO Chew Choon Seng and the new Queensland Minister for Tourism, Peter Lawlor.

The Singapore Airlines A330-300 is configured in a two-class layout, with 30 business class seats and 255 economy class seats. Throughout 2009, the aircraft will enter service between Singapore and two other Australian cities, Adelaide and Perth.

Singapore’s A330-300 feature new regional business class seats, which recline to a lie-flat bed. The cabin is laid out in a 2-2-2 configuration, distinct from the existing Boeing B777-200 aircraft on these routes, which has a 2-3-2 layout.
