Keith Pitt, Federal Member for Hinkler, has been appointed as Assistant Minister for Trade, Investment and Tourism.

Earlier this year, Pitt was sworn in as the Assistant Minister to the Deputy Prime Minister following a rearrangement in the Turnbull Ministry.

Pitt was appointed to his new portfolio yesterday afternoon by the Prime Minister, who subsequently confirmed the departure of Tourism Minister, Senator Richard Colbeck.

Pitt’s background is in sugar cane farming and workplace safety training. He first entered politics in 2013.

Turnbull also announced the appointment of Paul Fletcher as Minister for Urban Infrastructure, a role that will see him focus on the Western Sydney Airport project at Badgerys Creek.
