AirAsia has announced the first-ever international flights from Geelong's Avalon Airport will take flight from 5 December, 2018, connecting the port city to over 130 destinations. 

AirAsia has announced the first-ever international flights from Geelong’s Avalon Airport will take flight from 5 December, 2018, connecting the port city to over 130 destinations.

Business Events Geelong’s Convention Bureau Manager Mark Day, who attended the official launch in Kuala Lumpur last night, called the new flights a “game changer” for the business events market in Geelong and The Bellarine.

“The daily flights will provide business event travellers direct access from Asia to our regional product,” he said. 

“Geelong and The Bellarine is emerging as a leading regional destination for international business and incentive travellers. World class venues in a region that boasts experiences at award winning golf courses, family owned boutique wineries and one of a kind dining opportunities are now so much more accessible.”

As a division of Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine, Business Events Geelong represents over 600 businesses in every aspect of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing and Exhibitions (MICE) markets. Assisting meeting, conference and incentive travel organisers to source venues, suppliers and locations for their next business event.
