Chef Tobie Puttock, forerly of fifteen fame has opened The Kitchen Cat a new restaurant which also offers private dining to Melbourne locals and visitors.
Puttock has opened Kitchen Cat along with Melbourne-based property investor and long-time business partner, Adam Garrisson.
With its doors open since mid January 2011, The Kitchen Cat was born out of Puttock’s desire to create a relaxed space that concentrates on taste and flavour using great quality produce to be enjoyed by families, friends and business diners alike.

The new restaurant allows Puttock to create the Italian food that has so inspired him; it also provides him with the licence to explore dishes conceived in Italy whilst writing his three cook books.The menu reflects Puttock’s emphasis on quality local produce at every turn and, if not available in Australia, they are sourced overseas.
Leading architects Woods Bagot were tasked with the responsibility of creating the perfect environment for The Kitchen Cat. The restaurant has been decored with raw wood and tan leather to create a warm but modern vibe.
A large antique chef’s table, placed directly in front of the kitchen, encourages a traditional communal eating experience while the cosy wood panelled private dining room will give a group of up to ten a unique dining experience.
