The Sebel Pier One Sydney has released the first image of the hotel’s new conference facilities that are set to debut in September.

The renovation program includes a re-working of the hotel’s four ground floor conference rooms, formally known as Watersedge, that are being stripped back to their original 100-year-old foundations.

“The expansion of our conference and event facility is going to make a huge difference to the hotel,” says The Sebel Pier One’s general manger, Michael Sheridan.

HarbourWatch is set to open in September offering an event space for up to 440 guests cocktail-style.

“Not only will HarbourWatch have the best harbour and bridge views in town, it will play host to some of the city’s most impressive events and gala dinners.

“For those event organisers who really want to make a statement, HarbourWatch will undoubtedly provide a memorable backdrop to an outstanding meeting, conference, event or party.”

The expansive, floor-to-ceiling glass encased room will be able to be divided into three separate event spaces and at full capacity, HarbourWatch will be able to cater for up to 168 people cabaret-style, 220 banquet-style, 300 theatre-style and 440 people cocktail-style.

Situated at the front of the Pier, HarbourWatch will enjoy unrivalled views of Sydney Harbour, Luna Park, the Harbour Bridge and the evening lights of North Sydney.

Accounting for the hotel’s three existing Dawes Point conference rooms, upon completion, The Sebel Pier One Sydney will have eight dedicated, state-of-the-art reception and conference rooms, dramatically increasing the hotel’s conference capacity and cementing it as a world-class meeting and event venue.

Not only is The Sebel Pier One Sydney renovating its event space, the hotel is also in the midst of building seven deluxe one bedroom suites and 22 Waterside King rooms.

The seven suites will include three Harbour View Suites and four Harbour View Balcony Suites which will have direct access to private, expansive balconies

Set for completion December 2012, the additional room renovation will bring the guestroom count to 189.
