The State Library of Victoria, one of Melbourne’s oldest and grandest cultural venues, has completed the redevelopment of its premier venue space – the Village Roadshow Theatrette.

To mark the redevelopment of the state-of-the-art Village Roadshow Theatrette, The State Library of Victoria will host a venue hire open day on Tuesday 6 September 2011

The state-of-the-art theatrette accommodates 200 people including four spaces for wheelchairs. The venue’s versatility is enhanced with new stadium seating that includes lecture tablets throughout and 34 seats with 240 volt power outlets.

The theatrette is an ideal venue for multimedia presentations. It has been fitted with a high brightness, full high definition video/data projector; 300 inch, 16:9 projection screen; upgraded surround sound system; and multi-setting room lights, all of which can be controlled via a portal tablet interface.

Disability access has been improved with a new hearing loop and installation of a wheelchair lift to assist access to the stage.

The State Library of Victoria will host a venue hire open day on Tuesday 6 September 2011 which will serve as a great opportunity to investigate the Library’s venue spaces and speak with staff about hosting the perfect event.

To enquire about the theatrette, attend the open day or for further information about Library venues contact the venue hire team on 03 8664 7291.
