Raffles Maldives to open in February

The resort will feature 38 villas, including the ultra-luxurious Raffles Royal Residence.

AccorHotels has revealed a first look at Raffles Maldives Meradhoo, set to open on 1 February 2019. 

The 38-villa resort is located in the rare Maldivian oasis of Gaafu Alifu Atoll and features a combination of Beach Villas, Beach Residences and the Raffles Royal Residence.

Opening in the second half of 2019, the luxurious Royal Residence features a private pool, generous living spaces and a marble bathroom.

Meanwhile, a collection of Overwater Villas and Residences are also on offer and can be reached by a traditional Maldivian Dhoni boat.

The lavish new resort marks AccorHotels’ fourth property in the Maldives and first under the Raffles brand.

Each of the terraces feature glass floor panels, offering guests an up-close look into the reefs and marine life below.

Guests can dine at Thari, an all-day dining restaurant, Yuzu, a Peruvian and Japanese fusion restaurant or The Firepit, where flame-grilled specialty dishes are served under the stars.

The over-water Yapa Sunset Bar serves up tapas, sashimi, original cocktail concoctions, while the Long Bar features a selection of Champagnes and wines.
