Twin Melbourne hotels welcome first guests

IHG Hotels and Resorts has opened the doors to its first dual-branded property in Australia, welcoming guests in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD.

More than eight years in the making, on Thursday, 11 September, 2025, Melbourne opened new development Hotel Indigo Melbourne Little Collins and Holiday Inn Melbourne Bourke Street Mall.

Hotel Indigo Melbourne Little Collins is a 179-room boutique hotel that rises behind four preserved heritage facades – Diamond House, Public Benefit Bootery, Allan’s and the York Building – to blend modern amenities with Melbourne’s cultural heritage.

“The opening of Hotel Indigo Melbourne Little Collins is a landmark moment for the revitalisation of Bourke Street Mall and surrounding laneways, and an opportunity for us to showcase exactly what the Hotel Indigo brand brings to Melbourne: a design-forward, neighbourhood-first experience,” says the hotel’s general manager, Scott Hamilton.

Hotel Indigo Melbourne Little Collins features terrace balcony rooms and suites, an internal courtyard, dining establishments, gym facilities and The Meeting Room, a stylish space for intimate meetings or dinners for up to 12 guests.

Holiday Inn Melbourne Bourke Street Mall is a 273-room hotel featuring an open lobby, all-day dining at The Greenery, and a 220-square-metre private terrace event space with views across Bourke Street Mall.

“It is with immense pleasure we announce the opening of Holiday Inn Melbourne Bourke Street Mall,” says Hamilton.

“The hotel is set to lead the way in the revitalisation of Bourke Street Mall and its surrounding laneways, and we hope to welcome guests for all of Melbourne’s main events.”
