New general manager for Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park

Experienced hospitality executive David Lance has been appointed new general manager of five-star hotel Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park.

Lance boasts more than 30 years of international hospitality experience and most recently served as general manager at Royal Orchid Sheraton Bangkok Riverside.

His appointment supports Marriott’s ongoing focus on experienced leadership across its luxury and premium portfolio.

Lance began his hospitality career in 1995 at Four Seasons Hotel Sydney before joining Marriott International in 2003 as duty manager at Sydney Marriott Hotel.

He went on to work in senior operational roles in Thailand, including his first general manager posting at Marriott Executive Apartments Sukhumvit Park Bangkok.

In 2015, Lance relocated to Abu Dhabi to lead the pre-opening of the city’s first Marriott Hotel Downtown and Marriott Executive Apartments, before moving to Marriott Hotel Al Forsan.

Opened in 1992, Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park features 558 luxury rooms and suites, as well as a rooftop pool, spa and health club, and multiple dining venues, including the hatted Sydney Common and The Gallery restaurants.
