Gold Coast theme park Warner Bros Movie World has been transformed into an all-weather venue following the erection of a new 4000 square-metre roof.

Private and corporate events will benefit from the upgrade, making Movie World the second largest event/function venue on the Gold Coast with a seating capacity of up to 2000 guests.

Movie World’s new 4000-square-metre roof

Covering a large area of the park including Main Street and The Plaza — Movie World’s hub of entertainment — the new roof will provide guests with year round protection from rain an d Queensland’s harsh tropical sun. Event organisers can also rest assured knowing a plan B is not required. Rain, hail or shine, the venue has got it covered.

Warner Village Theme Parks CEO, John Menzies, said the roof will add a completely new dimension to the venue.

“The roof looks spectacular at night, with specialty lighting and themeing which creates a magical atmosphere, allowing us to offer event organisers a unique experience above and beyond the standard package,” he said.

“This is a wonderful addition to the Warner Bros Movie World offering allowing guests to experience one of Australia’s best theme parks during the day or night in all weather conditions.”

An exclusive gala cocktail evening held last Friday (October 10) for key tourism and event stakeholders showcased the structure, with special live entertainment and shows, state of the art lighting, thrilling rides after dark and a touch of Hollywood flair.
