Microhire has worked in partnership with the venue for more than a decade, delivering audiovisual services across the Brisbane Showgrounds precinct.
As part of the partnership renewal, Microhire will upgrade technology infrastructure with the aim to deliver greater flexibility, customisation and impact for event organisers and attendees.
“We’re excited to extend our partnership with Microhire, a company that understands the unique demands of our venues and consistently delivers above and beyond,” says Jago Coyle, general manager of venue sales and marketing, Brisbane Showgrounds.
“Our partnership has thrived since its inception in 2013, and we’re proud to see it evolve to meet the future of live events.
“The technology investment will allow us to offer even more creative and impactful experiences for our clients, reinforcing Brisbane Showgrounds as a premier destination for events of all sizes.”
At the centre of the upgrade is next-generation LED wall technology, including a moveable LED wall spanning 24 metres and featuring 12 million pixels.
Mounted on 60 metres of tracking, this LED system will create immersive environments that can be reconfigured.
The LED system will feature throughout the venue’s exhibition halls and foyers, delivering scalable, cost-effective customisation options for event organisers.
An extended meeting room network will feature individual 4m x 2.25m LED walls.
In total, these breakouts will add more than 60 square metres of LED surface area.
Audio will also receive a significant upgrade, with the installation of a new line array system in the venue’s main hall, which will allow for multiple configurations to suit everything from plenary sessions to complex multi-zone activations.
Lighting capabilities will also be enhanced, with the introduction of more than 300 intelligent moving head fixtures, enabling immersive and adaptable lighting designs across the precinct.
“We are honoured to continue our journey with Royal ICC, one of Queensland’s most iconic venues,” says Karsten Richert, regional general manager, Microhire.
“This renewal reflects our shared vision to stay at the forefront of event technology.
“Clients can now expect an even more immersive and adaptable experience, supported by a technical team that brings creativity and precision to every show.”
Microhire’s phased technology upgrade will begin in late 2025.
