Hillstone St Lucia Golf Links back in the swing of things

In what has been a tumultuous start to 2011, the team at Brisbane’s Hillstone St Lucia and St Lucia Golf Links are now back to business and fully functioning.

After the forced closure of the golf course following poor weather conditions, positive site testing has now allowed the course to reopen at full capacity, ready again for corporate golf days and events.

St Lucia Golf Links is an 18-hole public golf course located on the corner of Indooroopilly Road and Carawa Street, St Lucia. The St Lucia Golf Links complex also boasts the inclusion of Hillstone St Lucia – Brisbane’s award-winning events venue that sits adjacent to hundred acre bar – a wine bar and restaurant run by the same management team.

With over 20 years experience running corporate and charity golf days, the team at Hillstone St Lucia welcomes the news of the course reopening. Both venues overlook the expanse of the greens, enjoy natural light and fresh breezes, and combine to create a popular spot for after game refreshments.

“While our venue was not itself affected, we have certainly seen the adverse effects of the golf course closure first hand,” said Hillstone St Lucia’s director, Hans Pettersson. “During that first week, we deemed it vital that we remained open to cater for our regular patrons and also offer something back to the community and Brisbane’s amazing volunteers. We are of course thrilled that the course is now back to business as well”.

Although the venue lost power for a short period, it has reopened the kitchens in order to deliver much needed food and drinks to volunteers in support of the cleanup effort.
