Atlantis’ first integrated entertainment resort in China has opened, following the unveiling of the AUD$2bn Atlantis Sanya on Haitang Bay National Coast, Hainan Island.
“Following an intense development period of long days and nights by a team of approximately 3,000 colleagues, we are proud to introduce Atlantis Sanya to our first guests and the public,” said Heiko Schreiner, Managing Director Atlantis Sanya.
“When you combine 1,314 guestrooms including 154 suites, five of which are underwater suites, impeccable design from talents like Jeffrey Beers International and Hirsch Bedner Associates Design and an incredible water adventure at Aquaventure Waterpark, we know we are giving people unparalleled experiences new to Hainan Island and China, that only Atlantis can deliver.”
Overlooking the South China Sea, the mega-resort includes a water park; 21 bars and restaurants, including the signature Ossiano Underwater Restaurant and Bar and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen and Bar; and a conference centre, with a numerous multi-function ballrooms.
The property joins the hotel group’s flagship property Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai, while The Royal Atlantis Resort & Residences in Dubai and Atlantis, Ko Olina in Hawaii are currently in development.
