Luxperience wraps up another successful program

Organisers reported significant increases in exhibitors and buyers this year.

The team behind Luxperience, Australia’s leading luxury travel business exchange, is celebrating after another successful show, held on 7-10 October in Sydney.

Luxperience 2019 explored the evolving definition of luxury travel with a program of events attended by international and domestic buyers, exhibitors and media.

Taking place at the International Convention Centre Sydney, the 2019 event followed the theme ‘Experience Is Everything’.

Delegates clearly enjoyed the experience, with a 13 per cent increase in registered exhibitors and a 6 per cent increase in registered buyers recorded this year.

Luxperience event director Michelle Papas said response to the show has been “superb”.

“It was important for us to produce an event that not only looked great and ran smoothly but brought together the right mix of people and product to allow relationships to flourish, and provided ample opportunities for our delegates to learn, socialise and network,” she said.

“I feel confident that we achieved that.”

In addition to scheduled business meetings between buyers and exhibitors, delegates took part in a series of business sessions delivered in partnership with Mumbrella.

Speakers included Katherine Droga, founder of the Wellness Tourism Summit; Katelyn Aslett, market development manager at Adagold Aviation; Nelson Ni, CEO at Reception Expert; Yin Yu, founder and director at ReadySetGo China; and Carolyn Childs, CEO at MyTravelResearch.com.

Popular among delegates was a panel discussion on the topic of influence marketing, which saw Lauren Quaintance (Storyation) and Andrés López-Varela (The Destinationists) speak with a panel of luxury travel experts in a live taping of The Destinationists podcast.

Delegates celebrate at the Tuesday night social event

The social calendar was yet again another highlight for Luxperience, kicking off with a launch event at Australian National Maritime Museum. Luxperience’s Tuesday Night Social was held at the historic Pier One Sydney Harbour Hotel, treating guests to a special Sydney-style tribute to Santa Monica, with food and wine inspired by California’s top chefs.
