The Exhibition & Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) is inviting young people in the business events sector to join its next EEAA Young Stars networking event in Melbourne next week.
EEAA Chief Executive, Joyce DiMascio said the Young Stars program creates important networking opportunities for younger employees in the events industry, while at the same time discussing issues affecting the industry.
“Our younger members have said they want the chance to network more with their peers, so this is a great opportunity to do this whilst contributing to the discussion on waste reduction and sustainability.” She said.
Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre (MCEC) is hosting the event on 7 August for under 35s working in the Exhibition and Event industry and is open to both EEAA Members and non-members.
The event is part of The EEAA’s new initiative to rally the industry to reduce our environmental impact.
“We will hear from a panel of Young Stars representing different parts of the industry and give time for attendees to share their own thoughts and opinions on waste reduction. Together, we will develop new ideas on how our industry can reduce, reuse and recycle materials.” Ms DiMascio said.
The MCEC has also offered to give attendees a tour of Australia’s newest event space, MCEC’s $205 million expansion opened in early July.
