In addition to 4 international keynote speakers, the Australian Event Symposium, created by a unique conglomeration of industry associations, offers up to 24 workshop sessions run by the best of our local industry experts.

Francis Child, NSW Councillor of the PCO Association joins forces with Jonathon Casson, Partner at Holman Webb Lawyers, to bring focus back onto the professionalism of the events industry.

As the industry has developed, notions of professional practice may be challenged by new opportunities or threats in the events environment. Jonathon and Francis fuel a discussion on the meaning of “professional” and the role of ethics in our industry. In a follow on session, topics such as contract law, copyright, privacy and partnership agreements will be covered and your questions about best practice answered. The team will highlight complex legal issues facing the events world so that event professionals can operate in a way that is ethically and legally sound.

The Symposium program addresses not only at industry hot topics such as these, but also sponsorship, marketing, technology and industry development, giving every sector plenty to come away with.

The Australian Event Symposium takes place on October 6 and 7, 2011, at Sydney Olympic Park.

Register online by September 9 to receive the Early Bird rate. If you’re a member of one of the partner associations, ask them for the discount code to receive a further reduction on registration cost.
