Amna Karra-Hassan to speak at PCOA19

The founder of Auburn Giants AFL club will share her inspiring story.

PCO Association has announced community leader Amna Karra-Hassan as the opening keynote speaker for the 2019 PCOA Conference.

As the founder of the first AFL women’s team in Western Sydney, Karra-Hassan has an inspiring story to share.

At PCOA19, she will take delegates through her journey, touching on themes of resilience, consistency, fortitude, fear of success and self-sabotage, self-talk and aspiration.

These topics resonate well with PCOA19’s overarching theme of ‘Anything is Possible – where ingenuity, creativity and unpredictability meet’.

Karra-Hassan will offer insights on how she led the growth of the Auburn Giants AFL club, which has played a critical role in establishing AFL in the Western Sydney region and contributed to the recent inauguration of the GWS Giants in the AFLW.

She will share her experiences in collaborating with community leaders, small-business owners, local government and media, and explain how she engages in storytelling to help others overcome adversity.

Karra-Hassan holds a Bachelor in Organisational Learning degree from the University of Technology Sydney and recently completed the advanced leadership program with the Applied School of Management.

She also spent nine years with the Australian Federal Police, leading community engagement strategies, and she contributed to a reform, culture and standards portfolio which drove cultural change within the AFP.

You can hear her keynote speech at the 12th annual PCOA Conference and Exhibition on 8-10 December 2019. Find all the details here.
