See you later Cronuts. The newest trend to pop up everywhere from San Francisco to London is the artisanal toast bar where you can order from a range of breads and spreads.

Yep, toast. Your grandmother would laugh her head off to think  that people ‘these days’ would line up and pay $5 for a piece of toasted bread but that’s exactly what’s happening.

From organic sourdough to gluten-free breads with spreads like small batch almond butter, sour strawberry jam and Somerset salted butter, it seems that the humble slice of toast has been elevated to a culinary experience.
