Leichhardt gets a leafy new venue

The Royal Hotel on Norton St in Sydney's Leichhardt has unveiled The Royal Botanical, a casual new dining room, bar and garden terrace.


The Royal Hotel on Norton St in Sydney’s Leichhardt has unveiled The Royal Botanical, a casual new dining room, bar and garden terrace.

Opened last night by proprietor Martin Short and Leichhardt Mayor Darcy Byrne, the 45-seat room has been completely overhauled with bistro-style tables and chairs, booth seating, botanical themed prints on the walls and hanging baskets.

Byrne said that the refurbishment of The Royal Hotel is an important step towards the reinvigoration of the Norton St dining precinct. He also announced plans to bring live music into the streets and parks of the Leichhardt area, a move that will further raise the appeal of the iconic strip.


The Royal Botanical caters for 20 seated to 150 cocktail style and the downstairs main bar and sports bar are also available for a range of functions and events.
