Australian Event Awards search for new 3 year home

Bids are now open to host the Australian Event Awards for the next three years as the agreement with Sydney Olympic Park has come to a close.

Following the inaugural Australian Event Awards in 2009 the organisers launched a search for a home venue for the subsequent three years (2010 – 2012).

Sydney Olympic Park were successful in their bid and became the Home venue for the Industry Night of Nights.

“During those three years Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) were immensely supportive of the awards and have greatly assisted in bolstering the legitimacy and exposure of the program. Their participation has been invaluable, said Ian Steigrad, managing director of the Awards.

Now that the three year arrangement with SOPA has come to a close, a wide variety of interest has been shown from venues, organisations and governments across Australia in hosting the awards.

“In response to this, and in order to provide a fair opportunity to all, we have decided to launch a new national Search for a Home for the 2013-2015 Awards said Steigrad.

The event is anticipated to be held in the second week of November each year. Search for a Home bids will open on the 13th May 2013 giving interested parties five weeks to submit their bid. Bids close on the 14th June 2013. The winning destination will have the opportunity to showcase itself directly to the movers and shakers of the Australian events industry. Along with those who export Australian Events expertise to the world and to the 20,000 strong Australian Event Awards database. The announcement of the winning destination will be on the 9th July 2013.
