Australia’s event industry will have a unique opportunity to learn and network with the world’s leading event managers at the International Event Management Summit, to be held in Sydney in July 2012.

Hosted by the Australian Centre for Event Management (ACEM), the 2012 Summit will address all the latest issues facing the event industry and showcase the most innovative technologies available for event managers across the world.

“The International Event Management Summit will provide essential information and resources for anyone involved in event planning, from government representatives to conference organisers and major event producers,” said Rob Harris, director, The Australian Centre for Event Management.

The 2012 Summit incorporates the sixth International Event Management Research Conference and the fourth Event Education and Research Network Australasia Symposium.

The last International Event Management Summit was held in July 2009 and addressed the theme ‘Meeting the Challenge of Sustainable Development’, especially the increasing public pressure on events to address their environmental impacts. Participants were introduced to eco-friendly strategies, not only in line with increasing client demand but also in terms of the incredible responsiveness of the public to sustainable events.

“In 2012, delegates can look forward to networking with a diverse range of international and local speakers, learning through an impressive selection of case studies, panel discussions and workshops,” said Rob Harris.

The Summit will also involve specifically themed sessions addressing a number of topics including community engagement and events; education for sustainable development through events; events and urban renewal; event marketing; public policy and regional development through events.

Further details regarding the date, place and theme of the summit will be announced later in the year. For more information click here.
