Sydney’s only resort – Manly’s Q Station Retreat – is celebrating its 300th conference this week a little more than a year after it opened.

“We are so thankful to the meeting and incentive industry for their support and particularly those larger companies that have chosen us,” said Q Station Retreat director of sales and marketing, Penny Parkinson.

“In these trying economic times, it is good to see that conferences and events are still being booked with groups choosing to stay closer to home.”

Q Station Retreat is celebrating its 300th conference

Formerly Quarantine Station and used for 150 years as an isolation facility for migrants settling in Australia, Q station Retreat features 4-star bungalows, seven conference rooms and a restaurant surrounded by national park and fronting a Sydney Harbour beach.

It also offers a diverse range of experiences, including historical tours, ghost tours and, as of late, teambuilding activities with Be Challenged.

“When booking a conference or event, people now want more from their venue. It is no longer just about the room or catering,” Parkinson said. “Q Station Retreat offers a conference venue with a difference as well as tours and activities to suit any group, and our success in one year has demonstrated this.”
