Interpoint Events, the face-to-face arm of The Intermedia Group will organise the inaugural Health & Lifestyle Expo alongside the Sydney 2009 World Masters Games.
Sports Enthusiasts are expected to flock to Sydney for the 2009 World Masters Games
The four day expo will take place from 7-10 October 2009 at the Sydney Showground, the venue where 25,000 competitors will gather for their accreditation and registration. The expo will be open to competitors, spectators and the general public and will be a fantastic opportunity to engage with individuals who love sport – and is free to attend.
“This is an exciting new concept and will bring a new element to the sporting community – promoting a healthier lifestyle” said managing director of Interpoint Events, Simon Cooper, “20 per cent of exhibit space was reserved in the first four weeks – a clear indication of the popularity of sport in Australia.”
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ recent Social Trends research, ‘Over 60% of Australians between 35-94 participate in sports and regular physical activity at least once a week’.
The expo will focus on a broad range of sporting and lifestyle opportunities with over 70 companies expected to exhibit. Companies already confirmed include Alice Springs Masters Games, Amazing Super Health, Canterbury Australia, Cellular Energy, Hyper Vibe, Kikass Trading, MBT Footwear, New Zealand Masters Games, No Pain, Pursuit Performance, Tony Lutirells Tennis & Medical Supplies, Verofit, and many others.
Numerous tourism boards and sporting associations will also have a presence.
Sydney will host the seventh World Masters Games from 10-18 October 2009. Open to people of all abilities and most ages, the Games are the world’s largest multi-sport event.
