Scenic events venue opens in NSW Hunter Valley

A hugely anticipated new destination for events, hospitality and fine wine has opened its doors in the NSW Hunter Valley.

Mount View Estate recently launched in the popular wine region, offering a new events facility for guests seeking immersive experiences in the Hunter Valley.

Set on the restored site of Mount View Estate Winery, which was established in 1971 by Dr Harry Tulloch, the picturesque new venue features multiple events spaces including Barrel Hall, a 420-square-metre flexible indoor space that is ideal for weddings, product launches and private dinners, with capacity for up to 200 people seated or 250 people standing.

The venue also includes 320-square-metre Panorama Hall, an enclosed dining space connected to a scenic terrace which offers stunning views across the vineyards.

Mount View Estate also features Vista Terrace and Cellar Room, which is suited for outdoor celebrations and intimate tastings.

In addition to its event spaces, the property boasts luxury accommodation, with a mix of studio, residence and villa-style stays, each with smart technology and kitchen facilities.

At the recent launch of Mount View Estate – which included 150 wine industry professionals, tourism leaders, business representatives and media, in Barrel Hall – Cessnock MP Clayton Barr noted in his speech that Hunter Valley now welcomes close to 1.9 million visitors annually, generating more than $3.5 billion in expenditure.

He praised the property’s transformation from concept to completion as a “substantial contribution to the continued elevation of the Hunter’s tourism and lifestyle infrastructure”.

Destination NSW director Andrew McEvoy says Mount View Estate aligns perfectly with the state’s Visitor Economy Strategy 2030, shifting the Hunter Valley region towards high-quality, experience-led offerings.

Mount View Estate is anticipating it is likely to become a key return-visit destination for international travellers from China, UK, US and New Zealand.

“I don’t think my grandfather [Dr Tulloch] could have imagined this site would one day house something so modern and luxurious when he planted the first vines in 1971,” says Alisdair Tulloch, recently named the 2025 Hunter Valley Young Achiever of the Year.

Mount View Estate managing director Louis Liu says the property’s long-term vision is for exceptional hospitality.

“We aim to showcase the unique terroir of the Hunter and infuse it with heartfelt warmth and exceptional hospitality, creating a new benchmark for sustainability and cross-cultural engagement in the region.”
