Hospitality company Ghanem Group has launched Blackbird Bar, Dining & Events in Melbourne’s city centre.
Located at 66 Flinders Lane, in Collins Place, the three-level venue offers versatile event spaces, including a top floor devoted exclusively to private dining, meetings and events.
Complementing these spaces is a modern Australian menu featuring native ingredients, fresh seafood and woodfire-grilled, in-house dry-aged beef.
The new venue is an expansion for Blackbird, with its home being a riverfront venue in Brisbane.
The Melbourne property features a chandelier above the central staircase which connects all floors, each of which features spaces suitable for seated or cocktail functions.
The Flinders Floor features a street-level cocktail bar and lounge, which can accommodate 80 guests cocktail style, and includes a Flinders Lane alfresco area, as well as the Sunken Lounge area that accommodates up to 50 people.
On the middle floor, a split-level dining room seats 120 guests and is directly accessible from Collins Place.
The top floor features three dining rooms, each seating 10-18 guests, with options for them to be combined.
An adjacent top-floor cocktail lounge area can host up to 60 guests cocktail style.
Blackbird events are led by a culinary team including Ghanem Group executive chef Jake Nicolson, executive chef Melbourne Tim Menger, and Blackbird head chef Josh Moroney.
“This venue represents a true evolution – combining our hallmark high-quality service with a celebration of Melbourne’s energy and individuality,” says Ghanem Group director Nehme Ghanem.
“We’re bringing the best of Blackbird to a new city with an experience that is unmistakably Melbourne.”
