Parliament of NSW launches High Tea

High tea at the house

Served on the last Friday of each month, High Tea in the House opens the rarely seen Strangers’ Dining Room to the public.

Executive chef David Learmonth and his team have taken the traditional High Tea menu and a pinch of their in-house flair. Think lemonade scones with strawberry gel and cream, milk chocolate aero squares and flamed lemon meringue pies. Or does a bocconcini tartlet with chive coulis, or a smoked salmon and dill cream cheese crepe roulade sound a little more tempting?

The next High Tea will be served on Friday, 28 August from 3-5pm.

There are three options available, starting with a traditional high tea served with tea and coffee, a sparkling Pinot Chardonnay version, and finally the premium sparkling Brut Rose option.

The Stranger’s Dining Room overlooks The Domain and is located within Australia’s first and oldest Parliament.

Visitors are also encouraged to explore other parts of the precinct including the beautiful Fountain Court with its monthly art exhibitions and the Legislative Chambers, including the formidable Bear Pit. The newly opened public café features a gift shop, where visitors can now purchase a memento of their time in the House.
