The architects kept the original facade

The project that took GREC Architects and Commune Design over a year to complete has turned the rundown building into a 180 room hotel, complete with an Undefeated-branded gym, a theatre/event space, banquet rooms, a presidential suite and the L.A. Chapter restaurant that will open next week on January 17.

The gothic theatre is available to hire for events

The restaurant is headed up by Brooklyn restaurateur Jud Mongell, owner of Five Leaves in Greenpoint, and executive chef/partner Ken Addington. There is also a mezzanine bar called The Segovia, a rooftop lounge called Upstairs and a bar called, unsurprisingly, The Bar at L.A. Chapter.

The reception area has a distinctly LA vibe
