New mobile and social recruitment app, Workible, is helping businesses in the hospitality sector to find standby staff for the Christmas rush.

Workible’s Standby Shortlist feature provides businesses in the hospitality sector with a talent pool of suitable people to tap into when they need extra casual or part-time staff quickly.

The Standby Shortlist has already proved useful to Lollypotz, a chocolate bouquet gift service that was inundated with unexpected Christmas orders last week.

Lollypotz franchise manager Elizabeth Scheurer said, “Within 24 hours Workible had found the staff we needed to fulfil these orders including a specialist chocolate bouquet maker”.

For businesses that have last minute needs, even in cases of employee sickness or no shows, they can have people on site within a matter of hours.

The Standby Shortlist can provide last minute customer service officers, wait staff, delivery people or part-time employees.

Co-founder and director of Workible Fiona Anson said, “We have all sorts of employers looking for short term help as well as long term permanent positions on Workible”.

“What makes Workible unique is instead of employers receiving hundreds of irrelevant candidates, employers and job seekers can connect around the specific skills and availability they require – and it’s all done via mobile devices so people can find what they need fast.”

Workible also caters to job seekers looking to pick up last-minute or overflow work to help supplement their income, pay off unexpected bills or save for Christmas presents.

Job seekers can join the Standby Shortlist enter their skills and availability and be contacted by employers with an available casual or part-time position.

Workible has an impressive client list ranging from large national and international hotel chains to retailers and small businesses.

Anson said, “We have hotels tapping into our Shortlists looking for chefs and food and beverage staff as well as retailers looking for store managers and sales staff right now”.
