To celebrate the launch of the Pepsi Next Stage Tour, home grown Aussie band The Veronicas came out to perform a surprise gig for Melbourne fans last week (24 September) in Alexandra Gardens.

With thousands of people braving the weather and crowding Riverslide Skatepark, The Veronicas delivered a rocking show, kicking off the first of a series of performances on top of the Pepsi Next Stage Bus, a custom built vehicle equipped with a pop-up stage on the roof.

Fans turned up in masses to meet The Veronicas

Performing in Melbourne for the first time in five years, The Veronicas took to the stage at 3pm, surprising fans to their own rendition of Justin Beiber’s Boyfriend, previous hits 4Ever and Untouched, along with new releases Lolita and Mad Love from their long-awaited third album Life On Mars. The first single off the album, Lolita, has already gone Gold in Australia.

The pop up event will take place at various locations around Australia.

“We’re a big fan of impromptu events for fans; that element of surprise is always so exciting. For us, getting to reconnect with our fans and get more up close and personal makes it so much fun. The tour bus has an awesome pop-up stage on the roof that’s being used for some well known artists and DJs throughout summer, it’s definitely worth watching out for,” said Jess and Lisa of The Veronicas.

In addition to the performance, fans had the chance to take part in the legendary Pepsi Taste Challenge, which features the new Pepsi Next.
The Pepsi Next Stage Bus will be travelling throughout Australia offering fans the chance to hear their favourite artists and DJs.
