In an Australian first for industry, this New Years, Peats Ridge Festival will be broadcasting their entire three day event live and for free over the internet.

Peats Ridge Festival organisers have teamed up with YouTube, Nissan LEAF, and Unseen TV to deliver the event in real time to fans everywhere.

Music lovers can now jump on Peats Ridge YouTube channel  to check out their favourite acts in real time during the Festival from Thursday to Sunday (29 Dec – 01 Jan). The site goes live from Thursday 19th December with titbits, teasers and artist clips to check out ahead or the main event.

Festival director, Matt Grant says the Peats Ridge YouTube channel is a huge leap for Australian festivals.

“Broadcasting the entire Festival on YouTube is a first-ever in Australia. It changes the way music lovers and festival fans access their favourite artists.

“We want all those people who haven’t yet been to Peats Ridge to join us from the bus, the lounge, from a mate’s, wherever they are and from whatever phone, tablet or computer they have nearest. Everyone can share in the Festival. And best of all you can do it all over again as often as you like.”

“Peats Ridge has eight stages packed with music and a huge number of cutting edge and never before seen artistic performances and shows – so there’s no shortage of content for the live stream.

“We’ll also be talking to everyone’s favourite bands, performers and capturing the thoughts and feelings of our Festival family,” said Grant.

Set times have been announced today on www.peatsridgefestival.com.au with Gotye playing at New Years Eve on midnight.

Highlights include live and unedited streaming of the bands playing the Festival, artist profiles, behind the scenes action, theatre performances, campsite antics and the ever popular New Years Eve fancy dress parade.

Peats-goers will also be able to watch edits from the stream to spot their face in the crowd on YouTube.

Dedicated to sustainability, the Peats Ridge live stream is powered by Nissan LEAF, an 100% electric car with zero petrol and zero emissions. The Nissan LEAF and it’s cutting edge technology is a natural fit for the environmentally minded Festival – who have been pushing new technology to minimise environmental impact for years.

Jump on the Peats Ridge website to start planning your Festival adventure. With 140 acts, partygoers can plan which of Australia’s hottest artists they want to see including: music’s man of the moment, Gotye; funk and folk legend Xavier Rudd, indie foursome The Holidays, house legends The Stanton Warriors, The Dum Dum Girls, and Mountain Mocha Kilimanjaro.

Now in its eighth year representing the best and brightest of Australian and international music acts, Peats Ridge offers a festival experience like no other. Staged at Glenworth Valley along rolling green riverbanks the Festival is just an hour’s drive from Sydney – ideal for a three day New Years camping escape.

With a focus on creating a total experience for all, Peats Ridge hosts a brilliant showcase of art installations, kooky themed venues, multimedia, theatre, dance, cabaret, comedy, giant trapeze, and much much more, all winding along the riverbank and dotted throughout the event site.
