The AJC scores a double at the NSW Restaurant and Catering Awards

The Australian Jockey Club (AJC) defended its 2008 and 2009 titles by winning ‘Convention Centre Caterer of the Year’ as well as ‘Caterer at a Major Event’ at last weeks’ (11 Oct) NSW Restaurant & Catering Association Awards for Excellence 2010 Dinner in Sydney.

Competing against leading event centres and venues from across the state, the wins have once again positioned Royal Randwick as a sought after destination for national and international events and hospitality including catering and venue services.

The ‘Convention Center Caterer’ and ‘Caterer at a Major Event’ accolades were presented to the venue that has scored the highest marks for the category including food quality, service and customer satisfaction as determined by the panel of judges. The AJC will now go on to represent NSW in the National Awards for Excellence to be held in Melbourne at the end of October.

“The conventions and events market is hugely competitive and for us to be awarded these major honours demonstrates the high quality catering and event services delivered here at Royal Randwick,” said AJC’s director of sales and marketing Darwyn Jolly. “These truly significant awards duly recognise the dedication of our talented chefs and wonderful service team.”

“A unique venue with a difference, the AJC hosts around 350 events a year and offers a truly unique location and range of facilities to complement our award winning catering.”
