As a sponsor of Floriade 2010, Lindeman’s is set to blossom this spring with the launch of the new Lindeman’s Open Garden, a beautiful space for relaxing and celebrating a lighter lifestyle at Australia’s favourite flower festival, Floriade, which opened on Saturday (11 Sept).

Held until 12 October at Commonwealth Park in Canberra’s city centre, the Open Garden will add to the excitement of Floriade and see a flurry of activity from the Lindeman’s cellar door, to celebrity cooking demonstrations and a hanging basket competition for visitors.

Lindeman’s ambassadors, celebrity gardener Meredith Kirton and TV chef Dominique Rizzo will hold cooking and gardening demonstrations at the open garden providing simple, light recipes and tips on how and what to grow during spring time. This dynamic duo will appear alongside TV and radio personality, Glenn Wheeler, who will make sure there is plenty of fun among the flowers as well as down-to-earth ideas on how to create an edible garden.

The Cellar Door will also offer sampling from the newest addition to the Lindeman’s range, Lindeman’s Sweet Seasons. Just in time for the warmer weather, these new wines include the deliciously fruity Zibbibo, Blancello and Dulciana and are all at least 25 per cent lighter in alcohol.

Visitors to the Open Garden will also be able to get hands-on and compete in the hanging basket competition. Meredith Kirton will judge the competition each weekend and great prizes will be awarded to the most creative basket.

The Open Garden will also feature a photo gallery where visitors to Floriade will be able to upload any images taken throughout the festival to share with everyone.
