Outdoor screen announced for Sydney’s anticipated Concourse

Sydney’s newest entertainment venue, The Concourse has announced plans to include an outdoor screen at the open space area when the venue opens late 2011.

The exciting new addition to the site will offer an extra element to The Concourse furthering its position as an entertainment destination.

The screen will see a range of free entertainment offered by the venue such as digital art, open air cinema, broadcasts of live sporting events such as the World Cup and Olympics, important national events and live screenings of sold out performances held in the Performing Arts Centre on The Concourse.

This additional entertainment provided on the outdoor screen will complement the offering of The Concourse which will provide a variety of entertainment and performances in the Theatre and Concert Hall, conference facilities and new dining and retail spaces.

Run on GreenPower and composed of a series of modular LED units, the screen be situated on the upper grass area of The Concourse and will include a main screen viewed from the outdoor grassed area and the grand stairs leading to the Concert Hall. A smaller rear screen will be able to be viewed from the hotel courtyard area.

The Concourse is a state-of-the-art entertainment and events precinct, conveniently located in Chatswood on Sydney’s North Shore, only 10 minutes from the CBD and 30 minutes from the airport. The Concourse is taking bookings for late 2011 and beyond. Floor plans and further information is available from the precinct’s website.
