The anticipated Crown Conference Centre will officially open tomorrow as Australia’s only purpose-built hotel convention facility catering for large residential conferences, meetings, product launches and exhibitions.

The extension will enable the centre to accommodate up to 840 delegates with 20 concurrent rooms, all on one site.

The new Crown Conference Centre will open tomorrow (Feb 3) in Melbourne.

The multi-purpose, natural light-filled pre-function areas will feature multi-media panels and three cafes that will serve barista coffee, gourmet teas and a variety of sweet treats.

The chief executive officer of Crown, David Courtney, states that the expansion of the conference centre is a demonstration of the confidence Crown has in the future of Melbourne as one of the world’s leading conference destinations.

“The combination of the MCEC (Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre) with Crown’s entertainment offer and soon-to-be1600 hotel rooms provides a compelling offer to the international conference and conventions market. To date, more than 30 conferences and over 100 meetings have been booked at the Crown Conference Centre for the first 6 months of operation. ” he said.

In addition to the meeting rooms available, exclusive offices for conference organisers are available with private facilities and meeting areas. A business centre is open to delegates and organisers alike and will offer full secretarial services, Internet work-stations, photocopying, printing and scanning facilities, a private meeting room and courier service.

The Crown Conference Centre will offer a wide variety of function and event spaces to choose from.

Large scale conferences will benefit from one dedicated Crown contact to manage all aspects including conference, accommodation and special events, whilst short lead time meetings are offered a seamless and stress-free planning service, MeetingsOne, with just one Crown contact from enquiry to final billing.

The extension will complement the existing centre and join Crown Promenade Hotel and Crown Entertainment Complex.
