The HICAP awards recognise hotels in the Asia Pacific region that demonstrate exemplary environmentally sustainable practices. These awards are given to the finest three hotels in the Asia Pacific region.

Radisson Plaza Hotel Sydney was acknowledged for successfully executing a number of initiatives to enhance water, waste and energy resource management throughout the hotel.

“An increasing number of guests are prioritising environmentally friendly hotels.” said Radisson Plaza Hotel Sydney’s general manager, Peter Tudehope.

The hotel was the first in Australia to introduce Microfibre Cleaning Technology and in doing so has saved more than 1 million litres of water annually. The Radisson Plaza also works with EarthPower , Australia’s first regional waste-to-energy facility that collects and converts food waste to green energy and nutrient rich-fertiliser and has worked with Green Globe; the global benchmarking and certification program for sustainable travel and tourism.

“This award is recognition of our entire team’s commitment and focus on the environment. We are honoured to receive this award which cements us as being one of the hotel leaders in the Asia Pacific region”.
