Recently, Funktionality and Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter (EQ) combined their event skills to host an elegant evening under the historic dome for over 150 of Sydney’s finest corporate event organisers; showcasing the versatility of the Byron Kennedy Hall.

The Entertainment Quarter’s Byron Kennedy Hall was transformed into a swish venue for over 150 event organisers

Preserving a bygone era, the Byron Kennedy Hall exudes the charm and style of the 1920’s and the event partners created a Supper Club styled event to suit the venue perfectly. Funktionality once again showed their high standard of design in the use of black and white décor, transforming the venue into cocktail, lounge and restaurant environments.

Freshcatering supplied a refreshing point of difference with the addition of the Supper Club, a small ‘Gatsby’ styled restaurant set up in the space where guests could sample some more substantial canapés including oysters, salmon gravlax and pork & pistachio terrine. While roaming canapés, such as the freshcatering signature chilli caramel pork belly, and exceptional service ensured all guests were satisfied.

The event included a variety of entertainment including a firey bar show by Drinks by Design

Funktionality worked closely with the EQ team and Freshcatering to demonstrate how the Byron Kennedy Hall, a former film studio, can be transformed into a highly sought after corporate event venue. White chiffon swept gracefully between each pillar, framing the magnolia chandeliers surrounding the main dome space. Funktionality used this opportunity to display the wide range of décor they provide as part of their one stop event management service.

The guests spent the night entertained by Wonderbrass who put on a show with their signature big band ‘wow’ factor. While Drinks by Design ignited the energy in the room with a stunning flare bar show, proving that beverage service and entertainment are not always separate.

Wonderbrass kept guests entertained throughout the evening with ‘big band’ style grooves

The evening was guided through with the sophistication of MC David Malek from SMA Productions who welcomed our guests with a song. Beverages were provided by Optimiste and Yealands Way and catering equipment was sponsored by Pages Event Equipment.

O’Neill Photographics were on hand to capture the wonderful moments had by all.
