All guest rooms, suites and public areas at the property have undergone a refurbishment.
The refurbishment also sees the introduction of mobile keyless entry through the Starwood Preferred Guest app.
Starwood Hotels and Resorts Asia Pacific senior director, brand management, Vincent Ong said, “The Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort renovation truly underscores the Sheraton brand’s new elevated and customised approach to design as part of Sheraton 2020, a 10-point plan designed to put Sheraton back in the global spotlight.
“From the Tropical North Queensland-inspired colour palette, to the local-inspired dining choices, Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas allows guests to fully immerse themselves in the destination from the second they step foot on property,” said Ong.
The fresh colour scheme of the resort’s 294 rooms and suites incorporates a selection of natural tones to match the driftwood timber tiled floors, stone-topped mini bars and natural wooden furnishings, with splashes of coastal turquoise green.
The indoor-outdoor balconies now feature daybeds and the resort now offers 41 Lagoon Edge Rooms and 12 Lagoon Edge Studio Suites on the ground floor with private balconies offering guests views of and direct access to the resort’s saltwater lagoon swimming pools.
The lobby, porte cochére and main entrance have all been given a facelift and the pool now has 26 cabanas serviced by the bar and restaurant staff.
The Lobby Café has a new menu, Feast restaurant now has an interactive buffet and alfresco poolside dining experience on the outdoor deck with expanded seating to accommodate additional guests, and the remodelled Daintree Bar and Lounge now offers the Sheraton brand’s ‘Paired’ menu of small plates matched with premium wines and craft beers.
