Final countdown to SkyCity Darwin’s $40 million extension

A $40 million dollar tropical resort development, an award winning infinity pool and extensive restaurant upgrades will be unveiled soon at SkyCity Darwin

A $40 million dollar tropical resort development, an award winning infinity pool and extensive restaurant upgrades – in 2012 SKYCITY Darwin is redefining ‘Top End Luxury’.

Planned upgrades are quickly coming to fruition with the final countdown underway for the launch of the property’s much anticipated resort extension, due to be unveiled in July.

The $40 million extension is due to be unveiled in July 2012.

Announced in 2010 and taking almost 22 months to complete, the multi-million dollar development promises to introduce a new level of luxury accommodation to Darwin and represents SKYCITY’s commitment to the Territory’s projected growth strategy over the coming years.

Boasting 32 luxury rooms and 2 outstanding superior villas, the resort is centred on an extensive man-made lagoon with a swim-up bar and 30 metre white sand beach.

The complex will also feature a decadent day spa, managed by renowned Australian operator, endota spa. The spa centre will be available for use to the general public, in addition to a brand new bar & restaurant.

Situated on the shore of the tropical lagoon, ‘Cove’ will be the fifth restaurant showcased on the SKYCITY beachfront property, offering an all day dining option for resort guests and the Darwin public.

The existing 5-star property is also due to unveil a significant facelift, with some the hotel rooms having recently been fully renovated, and 2 of its popular restaurants recently completing refurbishments. Relaunched to the market in May 2012, award winning restaurants EVOO and
Dragon Court have undergone a modern update to the existing decor and introduced brand new menus, to reflect the unique fresh seasonal produce on offer in the Top End.
