Fijian resorts close for repairs after Tropical Cyclone Winston

A number of Fijian resorts have confirmed repair timeframes following the category five cyclone that devastated the region on Saturday (21 Feb).

A number of Fijian resorts have confirmed repair timeframes following the category five cyclone that devastated the region on Saturday (21 Feb).

Mana Island Resort and Spa in Fiji has confirmed that it will be closed for repairs until 28 July.

“The impact was so significant that the resort sustained severe damages to most public facilities including guest rooms, reception, restaurants, spa and swimming pool,” the Fijian property said.

Sheraton Resort and Spa Tokoriki Island will be closed until at least 31 May.

Tokoriki Island Resort said it will reopen to guests this Sunday after a ‘major clean up’.

Nanuya Island Resort and Matangi Island Resort have also said they will be closed until 19 March and 21 March respectively, with Koro Sun Resort shut until 1 April.

Gerard Knight, general manager, Radisson Blu Resort Fiji Denarau Island said, “Denarau is all good. We have been fully operation since Tuesday and have mains power again … parts of the north are devastated and aid/funds are still needed.”
