Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit coming to Sydney

Tourism Australia’s chief marketing officer, Susan Coghill, headlines the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit coming to Sydney on 28 August 2025.

Marketers, innovators and industry leaders will come together at the event at Crown Sydney to explore the latest trends and strategies shaping the future of travel and tourism.

Coghill (pictured, above) will deliver a session on how Australia “punches above its weight” on the global tourism stage.

On the eve of Tourism Australia’s new iteration of its “Come and Say G’day” campaign, the marketing chief will reveal how the organisation generates “cycles of salience” and why marketers need to nail the “brilliant basics” when on a tight budget.

Coghill’s session will address how Tourism Australia infuses local-market insights, traveller stories, local public relations and social thinking to win the competitive battle for market share against competitor destinations.

Another session at the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit will deliver a case study on Mudgee Region Tourism’s “anti-big movement” and earn-first public relations approach that enables smaller tourism players to outcompete bigger and better resourced competitors.

Mudgee Region Tourism’s chief executive officer, Beau Kassas, together with We Scout director Annabelle Jones, will reveal the marketing and PR tactics used to shape travel for the Mudgee region.

Other travel industry leaders confirmed to present at the summit include Tourism Tasmania’s chief marketing officer, Lindene Cleary; South Australian Tourism Commission’s executive director of marketing, Erik de Roos; Intrepid Travel’s general manager of purpose, Sara King; BMF’s ECD, David Fraser; and Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism’s sector marketing director, Emma Campbell.
